I am new to using the Internet and thinking of joining a good online matrimonial agency for the first time. Please explain and guide me through some of the important points that may be of interest to me.

A2 A traditional dating agency offers a limited set of profiles or introductions over a certain period. Matching is done in the agency office from profiles or registration forms filled in by members. Introductions are selected by the agency for you.
Internet matchmaking enables you to choose and contact fellow users directly. So, you have the opportunity to look at all the options. You have a more decision making role, more choice and more initiatives.
A3 Yes, it's safe as the website does not show your identifiable personal information, such as your name, address, phone number or email address. Common information which cannot be linked to any particular person, such as your age, height, qualifications, occupation, location, hobbies, etc. in your profile will be viewed by a large number of enthusiastic professionals who may send you messages by the click of a button from your profile. It provides a simple and exciting environment to

A4 This is to make people choose the right service so that time is saved and desired results are obtained quicker.

- Does not keep to the facts or statements made earlier, but give inconsistent and different versions about their age, qualifications, profession, employment, living accommodation, etc.
- Avoids answering reasonable and straight forwards questions, though asked repeatedly.
- Makes claims that seem extraordinary, or contradictory to what you already know about them.
- Does not fancy introducing to their friends and relatives, even though it was not your intention to go for it.
- Makes critical and disrespectful remarks or physical inappropriate behaviour.
- Looses temper and displays frustration quite often and try to dominate and control you; think they are always right and will not listen to reasonable arguments.

Other from the option list for country, region/state or city and continue registering yourself as a member. Mention your location in the
Short Description section (or
detailed personal profile section of
Edit Additional Details) so that people browsing know which part of the world you live in. Members who are located in similar locations or those who are open to shifting may contact you.

A10 This encourages more people to join. Some of them may have already wasted their time and money with other agencies simply because they did not have enough professional persons based in the UK, India, USA, Canada and other parts of the world
A11 Both types of members can receive, make their selections, meet and take the matter forward. They enjoy the same benefits as follows:

Smile contact (that gives them a link to your profile) or sending them a more detailed personal
Message through ApnaMatch.com with the click of a button. You do not have to wait for others to contact you first as is the case with Guest Members. Communicate immediately with the profiles you have liked and receive their replies to take the matter forward.
(iii) You receive weekly Auto MatchMaking lists of members matching your requirements via email. These lists save your time in searching, as what you want is emailed to you automatically every week.
A12 It is a free weekly email delivered to you featuring new members who have joined and match your search criteria based on age, height, location, etc. This shall save your time as up-to-date auto-generated profile lists meeting your criteria are forwarded to you automatically. Simply specify your MatchMaker criteria as a normal search and save your settings to get this facility. You must be a Deluxe Member to use this ApnaMatch.com feature.
A13 You can upgrade your membership at any time by paying the appropriate
fee to enjoy extra benefits as explained above. Log on to your ApnaMatch account and click on 'Upgrade to Deluxe Membership' link on the right of your screen. Most people join as Deluxe members from the very start.
A14 ApnaMatch.com has a Privacy Policy and, as such, your privacy is taken very seriously. Your identifiable data is not viewable on the website. No one knows your details such as your name, home address, telephone number or email address. You are also advised not to disclose your private information in your profile or initial messages. Your personal data is protected under the UK Data Protection Act. To begin with, members contact each other via our Profile Contact system, whereby their personal identities are protected.
A15 Most of our members are highly qualified and based in the UK, India, USA, Canada and other parts of the world, as has always been the case with
Laj Marriage Bureau International since 1979. Other categories of members, like business people or office workers, are also listed on ApnaMatch.com. Both of them shall have ample choice to find their partners.
A16 You can disallow them from sending you online messages by using the Block Sender function. You have every right to keep yourself away from someone who does not meet your requirements. Similarly, do not be surprised if you do not get a response to your message if someone has not liked your profile.
A17 By clicking the Block Sender button you can stop receiving unwanted messages through the ApnaMatch website. You can easily and discretely block various contact messages from specific members who have not appealed to you.
A18 You do not know the people you will be dealing with, and may be after initial contacts you will not like to continue communicating with them. First you must find out if they possess the qualities you are looking for, and if they are suitable and you feel comfortable dealing with them. Then you may be in a position to think of disclosing your identity to them. You have to use your own good sense in matters like these. We recommend you don't display contact details on your profile.
A19 Profiles with photos have proven to be more effective in attracting more response than without photos. Being contacted by more members will speed up the process and make your task easier in finding your partner. Please edit your profile and add a photo of yourself. Members that have added at least 1 photo have seen an improvement in the number of responses they receive. It's what separates you from all those other profiles without a photo. After all seeing a face is more helpful than reading a profile name when deciding to make contact with someone for the first time.
A20 Complete the registration accurately to the best of your ability. Answer all the fields, as an incomplete profile may not give a full picture of you and your interests. The more questions you answer, the more precise the matchmaking can be. If you have not completed the form in full, chances are you may not be contacted by some members.
You need to complete the 'core' registration (steps 1 and 2) and enter at least the required fields such as Gender. You may leave optional fields such as weight. Once you have successfully registered you are encouraged to add to your profile by going to the
Edit link which include selecting criteria about your desired partner, giving a detailed description of yourself and the person you are looking for and submitting your photo(s)
A21 You can do so three times during your membership. Profiles do not change so often, but a turn in circumstances may make you to rewrite some portions of your profile. Once logged on click on the
Edit link to do this.
A22 We will provide you with your password after making a few security checks.
A23 This is a way of attracting other members to view your profile. As a Deluxe Member, when you click on this link on another member's profile, it sends a simple message to that member with a link to your profile. If they like your profile and show interest in it, they can contact you.
A24 If you are a Deluxe member you can communicate with any member who have not blocked you regardless of which membership they have chosen.
A25 You can suspend your profile which means your profile is still there but it won't be displayed to viewers. Your profile will be hidden until you reactivate it or your membership period runs out. During suspension your membership period is still elapsing just as it would if you didn't suspend your account. You can do this by clicking on the
Manage Profile Status link once logged on.
On the Manage Profile Status page you can also terminate your account with ApnaMatch.com. If you choose this option your account is permanently removed and cannot be restored. If you want further services from ApnaMatch.com you will need to re-register and pay the appropriate fee if you choose a Deluxe Membership, just as a new member would.
A26 Registration fees paid are neither refundable nor transferable under any circumstances.
A27 We use cookies to track and store information about you. A 'cookie' is a small text file that enables us to track your use of our website and services. We use cookies to help us understand what our users' interests and preferences are in order that we can tailor ApnaMatch.com for our members and visitors. A28 You can make the payment online by Credit/Debit card, or by a personal cheque or bankers draft in Pounds Sterling, cashable in a bank in the UK, payable to ApnaMatch.com
A29 They are very safe and they do not appear on our hard disk or server. After the payment has been dealt with, their particulars do not stay on our system. You will have to enter them again when rejoining or renewing your membership.
