What is Falling in Love All About?
Falling in
love at first sight has more to do with outward appearance, dress up or a particular facial feature. Most of us have an image in our minds about how we'd like our prospective partner to look like. Your mind has the image firmly imprinted, and when you come across such a person, your mind matches the image it has with what it sees in front of you.
Romance and falling in love at first sight with a person is meaningful only if the attributes of the two people are similar. It shows poor judgement if someone thinks they've found "the one" from just after making eye contact with that random person in the shopping arcade. It's not advisable to make this king of judgement until you have found out whether that person has good qualities along with good appearance. There's certainly such a thing as attraction at first sight, but love at first sight lasts only when the chemistry of the two people are also similar. We tend to make our decisions, sometimes very hasty decisions, based on superficial characteristics that don't wear well, as in the case of love at first sight.
Love at first sight may be appealing to your eyes, but remember a soulmate is often defined as a person with whom you have feelings of deep passion and who makes you happy and complete. The next step should be to ascertain whether that person you have liked at first sight has the qualities and sound family background that will make a happy and united couple.
From a Man's Perspective
I was in the shopping arcade last year when my eyes happen to catch a glimpse of a beautiful lady walking past me. I turned around and had a good look at her. It immediately came to my mind that she was the lady who would suit me most. It was like love at first sight. She was tall, majestically dressed up and walking like a princess . I followed her discretely and saw her entering an internationally famous jewellers' store. My further research revealed she was the manager of that huge store.
Next day I went to that jewellery store pretending as a customer. I specifically approached her and she showed me the items I pointed to her. I decided to buy a female ring. I asked her to wear it for me to see the finger size. It was perfect. She was very courteous and friendly. There was no other customer around, so I took the opportunity to talk a little more, telling her about myself and asking about her. She knew our family's name, well known industrialists of the area. She started showing more interest in talking with me. She told me she was previously a school teacher but took a change in career. I asked her if she would have a cup of tea with me after days' work. She was a bit hesitant, and politely refused it. I really liked that polite refusal. It reflected that she had perfect qualities of a homely lady who would not go just like that with a stranger. That attracted me even more towards her.
I visited the shop again after a few days to tell her the ring was beautiful and everybody at home liked it. We met a few more times. Then we had been together at the weekends. This is how our love at first sight developed further.
From a Lady's Point of View
I travel everyday by metro to my work. I am an IT professional, a graduate young lady in computer science. It was a rainy day, I folded my umbrella and boarded the train. I opened my newspaper and was reading the movie section. My eyes caught sight of a handsome man sitting opposite me. The attraction came immense and immediate and it was love at first sight. I looked a few times at that guy, and our eyes criss crossed. I moved my right leg and foot a few times slightly. I noticed he felt a bit uneasy. We got down at the same station, but parted in different directions.
It was a busy day at work and the day went off unnoticed. That guy's picture got imprinted in my mind: good looking, smart, black suit and red tie on. I was thinking I wished my partner would be someone like him. 'Like, him?' I questioned to myself. 'Why not him,' was my feeling. It struck to my mind that he seemed to be hesitant, not a flirt man who would go after every woman.
After a few days, we happened to be again in the same carriage. But this time we were metres apart. I could see him, but did not know if he noticed my presence. Again we got down at the same station. I tried to catch up and be near him, but he had disappeared in that morning rush hour.
For a few days I did not see him. Maybe he was catching the metro at different times. Days started becoming like weeks followed by sleepless nights. One day I arrived at the station quite early to be there to board the train with my 'love at first sight'. Finally he came and we got in one after the other in the train. I said 'hello', he replied 'good morning.' It was a rush time, so we were both standing. This time I became nervous and could not talk much.
It was a Thursday morning and I remember the date also, when our love at first sight was shaping into reality. We introduced ourselves in the train while travelling to work. He was a chartered accountant in an international firm and had been to New York a few times on company's work. We became friends and eventually I got what I wanted, 'my love at first sight'..
